Coastal Engineering Team (IVS)
Presentation
Since 1998, the IVS team ("Interactions Vague Sédiments Structure" : Wave interactions with sediments and structure) performs research in coastal engineering. Focus is on numerical modeling of hydrodynamics and sediment processes at the wave scale but field experiments are also carried out to complement numerical studies. Larger scale studies, like estuarine dynamics, and practical coastal engineering applications are also part of the IVS activities. They are carried out in collaboration with our technological unit CASAGEC.
IVS mainly collaborates with University of Bordeaux I (UMR Trefle and UMR EPOC (Methys)), University of Rhode Island (Pr. Stephan Grilli), IST Lisbon (Pr. Ramiro Neves), AZTI San Sebastian and Universitad Republica Montevideo. IVS participates to two research consortiums at University of Pau (IPRA and MIRA) and is associated to OASU.
